View Full Version : Con que frequencia (Spanish word for "condition")?
Just wondering what your thoughts are on conditioning; specifically, how often I should do it. I've got a metal support beam in my basement, and I've just been gently running my forearms, shins, biceps, and triceps into it with increasing intensity. I'm moving cautiously right now because, obviously, I don't want to fuck up my limbs, but I want to know how often I can do it without it being deleterious to my health. I'm doing it about once a day, 5-10 minutes. Also, does anyone know any single-person conditioning exercises for the solar plexus?

Alls I know is do it lightly and do it long.(ly.)
I have been doing chi sau for 4 years now, and I never saw it as a conditioning exercise per se. The majority of contact was light to medium, for developing sensitivity. However, after 4 years, I can do demonstrations on people, or just be messing around, and can accidentally hurt them, through limb contact (ie clashing of forearms.) I got conditioning without even noticing. I think by doing it lightly you are not shocking or damaging your body. I also think it will take a long time to do it properly. You'd probably have to keep that up for months, if not years.
