I am not interested in a year long contract, I'm looking for a place to train while I visit. Is there anyway you can make accommodation for that time period?
You might want to try an email- he's either not checking this thread often or only updating it strategically to throw off the writeup. His email can be found with a little searching.

Your inference that Soldiers do not know how to "think and act on your own" is a grand example of your apparent ignorance on the topic and your apparent arrogance, and is an insult to all REAL, PROFESSIONAL WARRIORS.

It seems that you do not know how a real warrior thinks, therefore you should not be demanding how a REAL, PROFESSIONAL WARRIOR should think.

For the record, as a former soldier myself, I was very offended by your post telling Simio to think for himself as well. Soldiers have to constantly evaluate their surroundings in training as well as in combat. For your information, this requires the soldier to think for himself.

Frankly, your smug condescension is appalling.

Not to mention that soldiers (= real warriors) deal with real life and death, something that the 'bushido' philosophy has been completely isolated from since the Meiji Restoration (with the possible exception of WWII).

Let's not forget that aikido, the discipline supposedly studied and taught by the "teacher of teachers" Alba is as far removed from the concepts of "Bushido" as you are likely get in a Japanese art considering :

    1. It was created long after the Meiji Restoration
    2. ..Thus studied by anyone (not just those from warrior class backgrounds)
    3. The emphasis of the discipline is non-conflict
    4. It has never been tested

    Etc etc etc...

I prefer to think that bushido was real, but that the hagakure version of bushido was not

I had some email exchange with this guy last year and decided to see if he was still around. I'm glad you guys are taking this to the next level.

Has anyone contacted this dojo to see if they know him?

    Or this one?

He used both as a reference.

I sent emails to both at the beginning of the investigation, on 9-13-10. They did not get back to me. The aikijutsu org that did was, unfortunately, not even the right one (I'm dumb so I looked up one in Melbourne, Australia)
