Vague dojo

A new MMA "dojo" has opened up a couple towns over. I've found them on the web, and some hings are not sitting quite right. Now I know not everyone is great with websites, but there's somethings that I have to point out.

They don't teach any specific art. They teach grappling "arts" and striking "arts". This could be a bad thing or a good thing depending on who is teaching.

But then there are no mention of any instructors.

Next is their videos. Now I'm not grappling expert, just a lowly BJJ blue belt and MMA fighter, but their videos don't look the norm especially when it comes to all their ground stuff. But that could be just cause I'm use to traditional BJJ.

I've tried contacting them a few times, but nothing.That's okay though, I'm aware that people are busy.

What are your thoughts on this? Especially their videos?

Also, how far of a drive is it? Maybe you ought to go check them out?

Is it just me or does the guy do seoi nage 6 or 7 times?

Their videos is on their website and their youtube channel. While I can't commentate on their striking, their grappling just looks..."odd" to me. But they're teaching "grappling arts" and not BJJ so maybe I am incorrect.

Well, I definitely saw seoi nage and a scissor takedown. I also got the same feeling with it looking "not quite right".

I'm gonna err on the side of caution and defer judgement on such things to real grapplers.

I got a message from him. He said he has experience in Japanese Jujitsu and BJJ, as well as Judo and Sambo.

He gave me the name of a pro boxer and said that said boxer teaches there, but when I looked the boxer up, nothing came up.

A lot of those techniques look like a mix of SAMBO and Catch techniques. I did find it odd choice that they demonstrated a hip throw with double underhooks instead of some of the more traditional clinches, but I wouldn't say it's bullshido. Can anyone drive over and roll with them?
