I spoke to the students going there, they love the classes, they said there is no sparring, just light touch if at all, yet they say it is the deadliest. I thought maybe I was missing something
    You are, the kool-aid.

You train alive arts and you admit to being curious thinking, that you might be missing something. If you made this leap, while training alive, how far of a step is it to believe "the deadly exists" with zero alive training?

If i was in london, i would be training with paul whitrod. He moved to china in his early teens and lived with a chow gar grand master called Ip Shui. Since then he has dedicated his life to chow gar and martial arts in general. Words cannot describe him www.chowgarsouthernmantis.com

There is also a couple of pak mei schools in london. I cant say much about them though

James sinclairs wing chun is pretty poor to be honest.

    Re. the wing chun school

A training buddy of mine used to drop in to their san shou class for a while, he said they didn't spar (at the time), just drills.

If you are looking for good Chun then try one of these schools http://www.kamon.co.uk/ . They are based in and around London and also offer BJJ
