Ryan Hall teaches in my area. I am always very impressed with the way he can chain together inverted guard, 50/50 guard and deep half guard in order to take back, or setup leg locks. As someone or likes leg locks I been playing with the 50/50 guard, but without the slick entries quite yet, it been a tough learn. Especially with Ryan's style being so non-linear.

Great stuff. My body isn't made for that type of game, but it is impressive to see how well Ryan Hall has honed his particular style of grappling.

Actually Halls style makes me vomit. There should be rules against bullshit like that.

Franca seemed really reluctant to engage Hall's guard. He spent a fair amount of time just looking at Hall while Hall was on his back. Maybe too much time in my opinion.

Simple JNP; a person is forced to fight Hall's game because of the rules. Hall can completely take away an aspect of the game and nobody has a choice. If a person wants to jump guard or jump into a bottom game that's one thing but a person literally has to engage in a position that they don't want to because of manipulation of the rules. Complete and utter bullshit.

I agree. All that skill doesn't change the fact that Hall is still a buttflopper, and you and I discussed our thoughts on that at the TD.

Wow. Buttscooting is an embarasment. And I can't believe the ref just made Hermes step right into his guard like that. If that's how it's gonna be, why not just start from the knees?
