If you have any doubts about your standard of Karate ? Then just look up the MayoShinDo Kyushindo Karate - you will immediately feel better about what you are doing.

Hope you're well my friend it's been far too long since we sat together and had a chat. Thanks for the email recently with the Abbe Kenshiro Judo video link.

Say hello to the crew for me.

When he and some others split from them, the story goes he then awarded himself a 5th dan in the pub and started Bushido Karate. Looking at the videos I've seen of Zenshin Ryu, the styles are unsurprisingly very similar.

I was there for over 10 years, got to first dan in Bushido Karate.

The best and most accurate version of events comes from Murray Bruton (link further up I think), the former number two. He was there for a lot longer than I was and always seemed like a decent guy the times I met him.
Thanks for the info and being kandid here.

    Hi Dave
Always up for a pint if ever you are out my way ?
You could have a full time job with all the plastic samurai out there.

    Sorry to go off topic.
I just had a moron on YouTube asking why I never mention his teacher when speaking of the pioneers - I said the reason I never mention him, is, I have never heard of him ! ..He then starts to get nasty and says the guy was a student of H Foster - the pratt just answered his own question.
There is just too many out there.

    Hi,
I have actually met Jon Alexander and practiced some of his katas. It was in Cheltenham, England. I was taking my 2nd Dan at the time and he was a guest. We did 4 sword katas. Obviously we were all impressed. I 'was' looking him up on the internet in order to do these courses you are on about. I think you may have all saved me the trouble. BUT, I am looking for weapons courses in my area if anyone should know of any. I have retired from teaching, but practice when I can and want to take something else up (in a non competitive aspect)
    Any ideas dudes!

You can't legitimately learn the traditions and skills associated with the Japanese sword on "courses"

If you're specifically interested in sword related traditions you should start Google and research British Kendo Association.
