Recourse a hkd blackbelt is about the same time and rank as a blue belt in bjj, I have been in hapkido for almost two years second degree brown, and I have been in bjj for 9 months and I'm first stripe white. My BJJ instructor is a purple belt and has been doing it for over eight years so in traditional terms I guess he would be considered a 4th degree dan.

Monkey sorry about your injury I know all about pain I have metal rods in my back, so I feel your pain especially during shrimping and bear crawls lol

I have, fortunately, known some solid Hapkido guys in my time. Like most of the traditional stuff though, it's hit or miss. Actually contemplating getting my black this year.

Omega your a judo black belt thats awesome!!! I learned a judo triangle last week in my bjj class. :) I love Hapkido and I have great instructor and I am fortunate enough to have an amazing BJJ instructor as well I'm blessed
