Sorry, Sang, just to remind me, are you cutting weight for a fight, or a do you want to lose a few pounds in general?

    - Because, on the long term, I'd probably pass on your plan because of all the nutritional supplements. I'd rather eat whole food.

There are very few supplements in that plan. Everyone should be taking fish oil and a multi, and from there it's a scoop of protein powder a day.

The point is, I'd rather eat healthy before I let pills do the work, and I think for serious dieting, it's the wrong approach.

Means, instead of taking vitamin pills, I prefer to eat two or three different fruits each day.

Or instead of taking fish oil capsules, I rather eat some fish. :)

The multi I'm with pilgrim, if you want expensive urine, take a multi. But the fish oil I'm with emevas, you cannot eat that much fish in a day.

You'd have to eat a ton of fish to get that value. The same is true of the multis. You can't just eat 2-3 pieces of fruit to equal a multi, you have to eat an incredibly good diet.

You can eat healthy AND take multis and fish. There is no false dichotomy here.

I understand your point and agree in part but too much vitamins just get pissed out. As pilgrim probably meant, if you are getting your vitamins from whole foods like you should, a multi is useless. Fish oil doesn't just get pissed out, from what I understand.

Right, but very few people get proper vitamens from their diet, and that's the point of a multi. Yes, you should be eating good, but this thread is a living testament to the fact that most people will give into temptation WAY more often than they will remain consistent in their diet.

I don't get the concern about vitamens being pissed out. That's why you're taking the multi while eating healthy.

I agree with what you two said, but I think the problem with most overweight people (that I know personally) lies with an overall low quality of life that is mostly caused by a sum of bad habbits and a lack of inner harmony.

Eating some fast or instant food vs cooking your own meal.

Eating next to no vegetables and fruit vs having a balanced diet.

Eating a lot of articificial sugar vs natural (fruit) sugar.

Taking care of your body (shaving, showering, exercise) in a rush or under pressure vs having a balanced time management.

    ...And so on.

The issue I have with nutritional supplements is that pills don't make up for the relaxing feeling you will have if you do the above things properly.

Means, and, yeah, this is the archetypical lazy Spaniard speaking, the sensual pleasures of instant noodles plus a dozen pills escape me.

I think it's vital that people understand that they can only get a better body if they feel good doing it.

Again, you are creating a false dichtomoy. No one is saying to take multis and fish oils at the expense of proper nutrition and lifestyle, but in ADDITION to. Just because you take multis and fish doesn't mean you don't also eat fish and fruits and veggies.
