Just ran across this guy on eBay, selling "kali filipino martial arts Instructor certification". He has his own website here.

Besides the obvious mail order "kali filipino martial arts Instructor certification" shennaniganery, the description on the eBay page really threw up some red flags for me. He claims to have "served in Iraq with the special forces." He also claims [sic] "The System which he taught to the Navy SEAL 6 Team while he was working in Baghdad, Iraq and Kali Silat the indigenous deadly arts of the knife."

So this guy is claiming SF credentials and has Iraq service claims. His school is in Las Vegas, so any LV bullies willing to start up this investigation? He also claims to be an instructor under Inosanto, but I didn't see him on the Inosanto Academy's list of US instructors.

More claims from the eBay page:
[sic] "SifuAlmeria is a professional Executive protection agent. He has worked with Royalty from 3 contienents and hollywood clients of the caliber of John Travolta and many other high level foreign and domestic political dignitaries. He served with the Special forces in Iraq and has seen plenty of life action. This system is reality based and combat proven"

OK, this guy came up locally, where some guy who's been training via video with him for two years wants to set up a JKD school. Looking around I found this video. Here he is teaching a tai-otoshi, and making a dog's dinner of it. This isn't just sloppy, he has the principal all wrong; tai-otoshi is a throw where you pull your opponent off balance and then drop taking them with you, he's doing some kind of hip throw.

EDIT: Oh yeah I forgot my main question. Can anyone give more info on his JKD credentials?

wtf! look at the state of his website? I mean, I at least expected a slick package.
Seems like another matt furey. Christ knows how many JKD instructors are running about teaching, with his distance courses.

Hadn't thought of it that way. He's had that website registered since at least 2006, and the oldest version I could find on the way back machine from 2008 was selling the same instructor courses.

He also makes a point in his ebay ads that he the physical certification he hands out doesn't state it's from a DVD. Great guy.

Pilgrim, well he's defo giving out instructor certs, and running distance courses! like crackfox said it came up in another thread involving a distance student. I assume your talking about the website and not moving to spain.

Yepp. I had a dozen pop-ups, and the forum is pure spam.

I would like to know if this is for real, or if someone took another person's identity and made a website to cash in.

Usually, I am not so open to defend anyone, but this seems a bit suspicious.
