more mcdojo BS busting...
so i was at a bar tonight and this kid in my class named ed was talking **** about another kid mike in our class who practices BJJ. ed takes karate. so ed is like, "yeah, mike tried to show me a choke, but it didn't work and i told him if he didn't let go i would have to throw him, blah blah blah". so the kid says to me "oh let me show you" and he sticks his head toward my armpit, inviting a guillotine choke. so i do the choke, lock it in and lock my hands and lift my hips, and said "like this?" after a few seconds he tapped out. so he says, "no no, i had my hand under his arm". so he sticks his head toward my armpit again, so i lock in the choke again with his hand on my forearm. but i used leverage again and lifted my hips, and after a few seconds of struggling he tapped out again. then he says "i guess mike was more drunk than you are now".

Have my babies.Daniel: I don't know if I know enough karate.
Miyagi: Feeling correct.
Daniel: You sure know how to make a guy feel confident.
Miyagi: You trust the quality of what you know, not quantity.

LOL there's counters to a guillotine, especially standing, but I've never heard of one in karate.

What you should have said was "Hey man, while you've got your head down there, how about a little, you know. . ."
Never pass up a potential BJ :)"I had once talked to Billy Conn, the boxer, about professionals versus amateurs - specifically street fighters. One had always heard rumors of champions being taken out by back-alley fighters. Conn was scornful. "Aw, it's like hitting a girl," he said. "They're nothing."
