I am hosting a tv show!!!

Guys and Gals, I am the new host of the longest running television show about Self Defense, Personal Defense TV. The show is in its 5th season and they have decided to take the show in a new, edger direction. The show is mostly firearms based, but we are taking the Hand to Hand portions into a more MMA principle based direction. All of the H2H portions were filmed at my gym in Winchester, VA.

This season starts to air at the end of September beginning of October. There will be a new episode each week for 13 consecutive weeks. Then I believe they re-run for an additional 13 weeks. The show can be seen on The Sportsman Channel ( www.thesportsmanchannel.com ), Wild TV (Canada) and Fox Sports South. I hope you guys get a chance to see some of the shows and provide feedback for next season. I have a huge influence on the shows content and would love to make it the best we can.

Congrats that sounds like a lot of fun and maybe even a little scary. How much work have you done for or within film ?

Sorry in advance bushi,

While i support self-defense with guns i actually hate these kinds of shows.

Not the content as much as that fact that they try and create an unnecessarily high level of fear in people.

They never just show people learning self defense as a family and enjoying it, it is always about how people are out to get you and exaggerating the danger.

Imagine the text rolling across the screen looked like this (this uses the same figures in a different context):

The USA is a pretty safe country but unfortunately every year in the US...

3 in every 10,000 people will be sexually assaulted. Most of these will just involve some idiot trying to grope you in a bar (where you cant and shouldn't carry a gun anyway). Only maybe a couple in every hundred thousand will involve a stranger kidnapping and assaulting you.

2 in every 10,000 people will experience a home invasion.

5 in every 100,000 people will be murdered. Most of these will be criminals or gang members and the murder will be crime related (drugs or gangs).

Even though the danger is low learning self defense is fun and the entire family can take part. We will show you how to establish plans for the unlikely scenarios (home invasion, lost in a dangerous neighborhood, etc) without creating unnecessary paranoia and once everyone in your family is familiar with them you only need to go over them once every year as a reminder and the rest of the time can be spent doing fun stuff like weapon safety and different types of shooting on the various ranges.

I would watch that show.

Also, the movie being played during the murder text shows a man coming up behind another man and drawing and shooting with no reason or warning (unlikely??). I would like to know what possible defence you could use against that? The answer of course is nothing, it is just a scary scene put there to frighten people.
