Butt scooters, unitard wearers, and where does the pet name for my ..... come into play?

    :glasses10

I would add in gymnasts and 10th planet orbiters as a couple other potential classes.

Omega, totally off subject but it's been bugging me. Why is your avatar Metroplex and not the more appropriate Omega Supreme?

But on subject general categories may be helpful but people are individuals and may move between them. For example a purple belt I role with has crazy long legs and gets a huge amount of triangles however he also has a crushing top game.

It really comes down to how you are built and how you think but also who you have had to learn to fight.

You are indeed correct Mr Omega. On both counts.

Marcelo is a butt scooter but definitely a top surfer. Perhaps preferred method of engagement is supplemental to preferred grappling style.

Marcelo's destabilizing, long range open guard transitions well into his loose, flowing top game.

This is all true but knowing a guy's preferred orientation let's you play smarter. Also having ideas of basic gameplans gives you ideas of how to expand your training or focus your drilling.

Cowards who refuse to stand with me, annoying leg-grabbers and scary people who throw me on my ass. Slippery weasels, floating top players, and grinding monsters. Guys who look primarily to stay in and sub from guard; guys who like to pull guard and sweep, guys who like to stay on top.

Marcelo is a smart guard player. A guard player doesn't always fight of his back, he initiates from there. Just like a top surfer knows how to play the guard game if needed.
