Did he say who he received his black belt under, or if it was his dad then who his father got his black belt under?
I just googled bjj in the area, this other school came up. They may know something about him. I'm sure they'd be delighted to know about another 3rd degree blackbelt near them.

Correction they have an affiliate in RI, but surely a 3rd degree blackbelt would be known. BJJ isn't a huge community. -

I appreciate the irony of this situation. One, they picked a VERY well known martial artist to feature on their website that anyone with a background in grappling would know and immediately question if the site had his approval. Two, they, allegedly, teach BJJ....Mike Swain, of course, is a judoka....nice.

Not quite. Your name shows up just not you rank or place. I'm still in there from 2007 for example but it doesn't show what places I got at tournaments. I can find a Don Perkins but he has no records at all from 2002-2010. So either his fights are older than 2002 or he registered but didn't compete maybe?

I see a huge thread on this has started on the underground. Unfortunately I don't have an accoun there yet but I think I could answer a lot of their questions about the situation and this area. Could someone with an account there post my aim? (adestroyedgenius) I am the original poster as well as a student of the nearbye legit school.

As with most BJJ black belt claims, it is near impossible to fly under the radar especially if you have a 263-0 competition record.
I would like to know how long he has been living (not necessarily training) in the area and where he lived/trained before that.
Has he instructed previously? If so, where?
Claiming that somebody from Brazil named "Donde" only trained him (Don) and with his family makes it convenient for Don.
Has anybody in the area thought about just dropping in on a class? I'm not talking about a dojo storm in any meaning of the phrase, but rather show up and take a class as a student. You can get a better gauge as to his abilities. You may also be able to roll with him to see how he handles himself on the mat. -

Preliminary information dump:

A search of BDFS sites shows no results of any "Don Perkins" or variations thereof. The BDFS sites appear to be pretty scattered, but Google results even lack any sort of association outside of his LinkedIn profile.
