But seriously.... Maybe for some people it is enough to get together and enjoy the physical activity, even if the outcome is not high-end capability. If they need some live action role play to help get them out of the house and get some exercise, good for them. They are actually getting some physical exercise and social interaction..... Put down that video game and get off the couch! (Public Service Announcement.)

If it is held in that context, then is it so bad?
because dumbass, the voice narrating was telling how ninjutsu is awesome to help defend yourself.
    thats really bad.

I was an assistant instructor there as well and taught a few classes when the instructor was away. Thinking back on it now it has just dawned on me how bad and irresponsible it really was - I was only 15 or 16 and in charge of a class.

The sparring at our class was alive and the contact varied depending on who was sparring (for us it was usually very hard because it was a young class) using all ranges including weapons. The only safety equipment we had was a cup and a mouth piece (even for weapons) and we could do practically anything (including biting and people did). We never really punched each other in the face. I don't know why, because nothing was ever said about not hitting to the face, it just never really happened. The weapons training was really dangerous looking back, and I am glad people didn't get too badly hurt or killed. After all, we used throw swords to each other and fight with shinais (bamboo swords) with no armour.

I think I will start a thread about the bad techniques and other things I have seen/experienced while training there (there is a lot). If I post it in this thread it will derail it too much.

**** me sideways, it's Australia's version of Ashida Kim. I thought Kevin was done with this bullshit, looks like he's just gotten worse (much, MUCH worse!).

I need to dig up that **** on him from ages back, guy lies about a lot of his creds, etc ... but instead of just saying it I should go find the sources.

The website references the Kyushu region of Japan and says that name of the style they made up.

    That's it.
