    Hell yeah! Hell no!

    Weird thumb injury

Not sure where I got this but I have this for almost 3 weeks now.
I'm suspecting my thumb was extended while doing pad work.

My thumb and part of my wrist connecting to it hurts and I can barely extend it, I can move it any other way without pain.

Once the adrenaline pumps, I can move it without any problem at all, pain is still there though.

Weird thing, it's not bruised, discolored or anything at all.

    I'm guessing I twisted a nerve?

Don't want to rush to a doctor right away.

    It sounds like DeQuervains tendonitis.
Go see a doc to be sure, and "RICE" in the meantime.

Go to Makati Med ASAP, bro.

Or try out Jorge Canlas, he's one of the best orthopedics guys here in the philippines.

Yeah. I 'might' see a doctor once I get my pay anyway, gonna take a couple of days rest first, taking a break from practice and let my body heal... both thumb and shins. Thanks for the replies.

    EDIT:
    It does sound like DeQuervains.

    What's RICE again?

    Oh I see.

I don't get the ice and elevation part. If I elevate it won't the blood flow be a little slower?

And is it OK to use ice? I heard it's only good for the first 12 or so hours after being injured. This is like a month old.

Those are both to reduce inflammation.
    Inflammation can cause poor healing.
