War on the Mainland - not that bad.
Anyone seen this event?
Good fights by Sylvia (!), Horwich, Leites, with Bas Rutten doing an appearance
as a commentator.
Very sad fight by Jens Pulver.
Overall, very entertaining card.
I could perfectly live with more shows by PWP.
Also, I didn't know who Matt Horwich was.
If you thought Genki Sudo says some weird **** lately, try watching this interview with a straight face:
YouTube- Matt Horwich After Submitting Thales Leites!
This is the stuff Paulo Filho's in-cage monologues are made of.
Yeah forgot to post about this event.
I saw the interview last night was awesome, POEMS ABOUT THE MULTIVERSE
Interesting, since Jens Pulver choked Cub Swanson (and we all cheered the old Jens was back) with an awesome modified guillotine choke, he's lost by guillotine three times in six fights
Pulver's problem is mental.
He lost FIVE of those six losses in the first round.
Either time to go, or time to fucking train.

Agreed. Honestly it hurts to see him lose like that because I loved him back in the day and he has a huge heart. But at some point you just have to admit that whatever "it" is that makes someone a legit fighter seems to have worn out. Maybe it's just mental and he could snap back into it and fight at a moderately high level again, but he sure hasn't looked good lately.

I think Pulver is the textbook example of somebody believing his own hype, and in some sort of macho martyrdom:
"I have to continue fighting, because I can get no other jobs."
Those are the words of somebody unwilling to sacrifice.
Bas opined that if Jens insisted on fighting again, he must go to Brazil and train BJJ/grappling for 6 months minimum.
Good advice, IMO. But retiring would be better advice.
Poor Jens :[
He was one of my favorite fighters when I first got into watching MMA 7 years back. This royally sucks. How do you go 5 rounds with Faber and then keep losing in the first round 5 times in a row? The ****?
Probably the same thought is consistently running through Jens' own mind.
