No, we all agree that regardless of they style or our experience, it isn't fighting Tai Chi.
5th Degree regardless of style is a high rank. All the problems that have been mentioned are basic things you learn in even McDojo Tai Chi. You do not learn these in health, wushu, or larping Tai Chi. Sadly, this is about the most static and poor Tai Chi I have seen.
The discussion helps the Tai Chi noob understand why the degree claims are questionable. The hood mentality is crippling disease, that attacks your nervous system. It makes you nervous of the system. Gangsters and hood rats are especially susceptible to this growth stunting mentality. The hood is where I'm from, but it's not what I am. Na. He says that those people were *his (unnamed) teacher's* instructors.
(bolding mine)
My principal studies included Cheng Man Ch’ing short form, traditional classical Yang style long form, fixed step and moving step push hands (or Tui Shou), Da Lu, San Shou, and Chi kung (or Qi Gong), as taught to my teacher by John Kells, William C Chen, Chu Gin Soon and Gia Fu Feng. I also learned Cheng Ting Hua style Ba Gua Zhang, an advanced Taoist martial art (developed specifically for use by professional bodyguards), as taught to my teacher by Rose Li. -
