Thanks, will do. So far, none of his resume is checking out. The guy claims to have received a blackbelt from Renzo Gracie in 10 months, which is beyond exaggeration.

It is actually six years and ten months; it was only ten months training under Renzo himself, or so I gathered. I would recommend emailing Renzo himself but I think I recall a language issue popping up before.

E-mails have been sent to Renzo already. Just waiting for reply. Also, just for some perspective on the training it takes to get a BB in BJJ, it generally takes 2-3 years to go from a white belt to a blue belt. And most BB's take 10+ years to achieve. Expecially under Renzo.

At some point you should also e-mail Mr. Martinez and let him know he is the subject of an investigation and link him to this thread so he may defend himself.

I just sent him a friend request on facebook and am awaiting his acceptance. I will then direct him to this page.

He has also been sent e-mails from people over at the UG informing him about the thread over there as well.

Threads merged. For the record I'm friends with Scott Adams founder of the WEC. I can easily give him a call and double check but like I said I was coaching and fighting for WEC at that time, I've never heard of this guy. Back then the WEC had its own forums that discussed, at length, the fights that were happening. We even tried some internet drama (all of which was just for play) so most of the fighters knew each other in some way shape or form.

Here is his MySpace, just for reference point

Boxrec results for David Martinez. I am assuming he would be somewhere from Lt. Heavy (175), Cruiser (190) or Heavy (200+) and DOB is somewhere around 1980ish and nobody is fitting that criteria

It would help to know where he went to High School, to narrow down the claims of his State Wrestling Championship. I found some Dave/id Martinez's who did quite well in Illinois (his current state) but they were all in the 103ish pound weight classes.

I am checking into the wrestling right now. He claimed to train BJJ in New Jersey until 97 or 98 and I'm not getting any hits on any of our champs being named David or Dave Martinez, although it is tough because he claims to be from 'New Jersey, New Jersey'.

I also was a two time State Champion High School Wrestler in
    ’96 and ‘97.
Since you are working on it, I'll let you roll, but here and here are potential sources of information
