Help The Devil Decide on Zombie Gear

Help me out, bullies. I've got about $700 bucks to spend on man toys at the moment. I'm trying to decide between this:

Or this:

If I buy the shotgun I'm going to get a Knoxx recoil reduction stock and a side saddle to go on it which will put me around $700.

If I buy the Aimpoint, I'm going to get a Larue mount with it that will put me around $700.

So, here are my tactical concerns.....I do have a 12 gauge shotgun, but it's really a bird gun. I don't have a tactical shotgun. So, I need one. Duh. This seems like a no-brainer and my first inclination was to buy the shotgun. But....

I have a Bushmaster AR-15 with a flat top receiver and iron sights. I can shoot it well, so I would generally consider a red dot optic to be of secondary importance. But, I was thinking about when the zombies come. All the bad boys will be packing heat. But the Aimpoint would give me a distinct low light advantage in the post-apocalyptic, electricityless world. It sucks balls to be in the dark, want to engage a target and can't because you can't see your front sight post. Been there, done that. Didn't like it at all.

Help me choose. Don't tell me about all the other unrelated cool stuff you'd buy instead. I also don't want to hear your Aimpoint / Eotech arguments and your Remington / Mossberg arguments. I have other guns and for various reasons, I'm going to choose one of these items at the moment. So, what do you fuckers think?

Dude...spend your pennies on a "home built" AR15. You can literally save hundreds of dollars by building the gun from a stripped lower receiver. You can literally build a 16" flat top all day long for under $600. Get yourself a good sling, a good set of sights, and a light for it. Afterwards...get yourself some spare mags, at least 1K rounds of ammo, and THEN think about optics.

Why not roll with a Vortex SPARC? 2MOA aiming dot with an included 3x magnifier. All for under $200.

Screw a shotgun, dude. Get yourself a good, mid-range semi-auto like an AR15. If you even think about a Mini14, there are legions here who would hunt you down and kick you in the balls.

Well, I'm pretty sure Skeletor's entire post was intended as a joke.

Mini 14s are great! They were good enough for the A-Team, so who am I to question?

Proprietary mags, poor accuracy and reliability, more expensive than a baseline AR but not as useful.

I want something relatively light and I don't plan on loading it down with a lot of ****. Probably just a light and an optic (with back-up iron sights).

Sorry, don't know anything about that company. Just out of curiosity, what attracted you to this rifle? You can buy the same rifle from other manufacturers for a very similar price. Not saying your choice is right or wrong. Just wondering why?

A lot of folks on AR15.com seems to think they're under-priced for the quality of parts and workmanship.
