    a pop is a dislocation.
a ripping sound is a muscle or tendon.
And a crack is a bone.
    mostly.

If something cracked then you didn't escape. I experienced a loud crack once when I didn't tap from a kimura. I had some pain for about 6 weeks and then it went away. Definately has to get checked out though. Good luck.

Where did the crack come from? The way you describe it the symptom it sounds like your shoulder, is that what hurts?

If you would please, describe the "wrong way" out of an arm bar.

Good luck at the doc's and I hope it is nothing serious.

If your arm broke you didn't escape ****...

Edit: apparently I'm not the first to make this observation.

Arm is not broken, the pain is in the upper arm shoulder area, touching it doesn't hurt but moving it does. Moving the arm above head height produces a loud cracking noise and lots of pain.

I rolled in too late when I should've just lay there and tapped, fill in the blanks.

So you turned their armbar into a shoulder lock?

    Nice ...

I am now assuming you were not grappling under proper supervision and not in a real gym.

I would take your down time and check into getting some real grappling instruction.

Then stop doing that and get it looked at.
