Delilah's someone told me and I felt stupid.
But then we went here, like I said:

Watch the DVD biography it explains a ton about the man. I think that is where the quote that Neo posted came from.

A soft spot for the guy despite the rape allegations. Huh.
Nope, sorry. I get his childhood, I get that the world probably tumbled off its axis when he got the money flowing and again when D'Amato died and people used him and nobody cared about him . . . but he's responsible for his actions.

Don Gwinn, those rape allegations are suspect to me, so yes, I still have a soft spot. The guy was young, the undisputed boxing champion of the world and a millionnaire with the ability to pull any chick he wants and he rapes a model that comes back willingly to his hotel room? Not saying it didn't happen, but, well, I have my doubts.
As another aside, I can't find it on the net, but I heard someone is suing Tyson claiming they are the original "Iron Mike". Unbelievable.

YouTube- ‪Tyson Documentary Rape Quote‬‎
Yes, I know semantics. Oh and I'd say lawyer semantics as he never uses the word "rape" again after addressing the initial question.
He uses advantage and chastity.
Not telling you what to believe but, this definitely made me look at him in another light.

I knew a guy who went to high school with the girl who accused Tyson of rape. According to him, the girl was a complete slut.
That doesn't mean he didn't rape her, but it adds a bit of color to the story regardless. I haven't followed Tyson too closely, but I would expect that if it was in his character to do such a thing, there would be a lot more complaints and allegations along the same lines, going back for years.

Believe what you want, because we can none of us prove any of this. But there was a LOT more to Tyson's record of raping, beating and mistreating women than one allegation from one girl who went to high school with a guy Phrost knows. His relationship with his wife, for instance, who was arguably more famous than he was (and it wouldn't surprise me to find that she managed her money--even before she got so much of his--than he did, too.)
The fact that the guy was perceptive enough to understand what happened to him and how terribly he dealt with it doesn't change or excuse any of it. When he says things like "I was this age and had this background and then I got this much money--what did you think was going to happen?"
You might find that funny, but it's not a reason to think he wasn't a train wreck--he's telling you that he was. He's just arguing that it was inevitable and he's not responsible for it.
