OK. But, I'll wager a guess as to where you trained. I'm Andy's son. Andy is the bearded man who was recently diagnosed with bone marrow cancer. I probably trained with you a couple times a few years ago, when the W.I. Ninjutsu school fell apart. I was a BJJ guy at the time. I went with my Dad to train with you guys at Rob's house with some mats in the driveway. It was good stuff.

Sorry to read about your dad's cancer. He'll be in my prayers.

Sorta necro and a little off topic, but what happened to the WI Dojo and are you referring to Allie Aberrigo's dojo? AFAIK, it is still up and running strong. It is pretty good for a bunch Ninjers.

And if the OP is still monitoring the thread, there are quite a few JJJ dojos here on the Island. Infact, if you wanna go a little better, there is an Enshin (Kyokushin/Judo hybrid) dojo in Selden. I would go, but I am all the way in Bethpage. Long trip.

    It's not JJJ, but...

I'm not exactly sure becasuse I never trained there. But, there was some sort of falling out and some instructors left and took students with them. Or something to that effect.

That probably had to do with Aberrigo's split with the Genbukan.

Pulieo and Theodorou are prettu much the same thing in terms of contents. Pulieo "created" his brand of jiujitsu called American Jiujitsu in which he incorporated a few facets from other arts he's trained in. He opened the AJJ Centers. Phil Theodorou and his brother Nick were two of Pulieo's students. They later branched off and opened their own schools (Phil in NY, Nick in Boston). Their curriculum is probably a bit different from Pulieo's (and from each other) by now since it's been years, but really it's all Hakko Ryu the curricular differences are negligible. The main difference is going to be the quality of instruction and training atmosphere probably.

For reference, I train under C. Noetzli, who trained under Nick Theodorou who trained under Joe Pulieo...
