Sweet. You now have CMC lineage, and instant status of Magic Gwailo. If you release DVDs, you can now legitimately price them at $60 and up, using old discarded GZ Beauty DVD casing. (I like the pink ones, use pink.)

Furthermore, if you post an excel lineage chart on your web site, you will become up to 40% more magic and/or marketable :|

    Your HP is up 40
MP (Qi meter) is up 60
and your LUCK attribute is x2

In addition, if I rub you, I too can claim this CMC lineage.
    Can I? Can I? Can I?

Hey Ming Loyalist, I'm curious, what was the quality of Gallante's training? Was it sparring-heavy, or was it more yoga-esque? From the book he wrote, I got a distinct new age impression, but wanted to hear from someone who trained with the man in person.

Na, I'm thinking of someone semi-famous in my homeland. It's probably not going to be much of a funny comparison, at the end of the day...

well, it was through the stuyvesant high school adult center, so it wasn't his own school and there weren't extensive classes. the class was entirely forms work, with no push hands practice that i saw in the 9 or so months i was training there.

he did take the time to show combat applications of the techniques, but we never practiced them against each other.

have sample Lesson #4 ready for you. You can find it here.

But I have to warn you -

Tai Chi students and teachers are furious with me
about what I discuss in the videos with this lesson.

They are angry with me whenever I reveal "inconvenient truths"
about some Tai Chi and Qigong styles.

Fortunately, as you'll see in my video, I have hard
evidence (collected by a Ph.D. researcher) to back up
    what I have to say.
(I never did get concrete details about the research, or publication info. I was pointed at an article in Empty Vessel magazine, I think... will have to dig up that email...)

I have some exciting news, and I'm glad that you opened
    this invitation.

I wanted to let you know about my 100% Free Webinar

escorting you behind the scenes and showing you

.... Develop "Energy Threading" to help you find
Chi Blockages and Energy System problems.

.... The Four Primary Types of "Directed Chi" that cover
just about every physical, mental, and emotional situation
    you can think of!

    You'll also see:

.... A Qigong for "sleep" and migraines

    still available:

If you missed our Thursday night Complete Chi Health webinar,
this may be your LAST chance to watch it and catch this
    valuable information.

It was a great webinar. We were able to cover all five steps
to Complete Chi Health, plus I answered REAL-TIME some great
questions about Qigong for chronic health problems, what
style of Tai Chi is best, Tai Chi "push hands" and Chi health,
plus how your "Chi bank balance" affects health.

In the past, I always held an extra session of my webinars on
Saturday mornings. That way, those who missed the Thursday
night webinar could attend on Saturday morning.

But it's hard to find a time when we all can get together at
    the same time on Saturday.

So instead of an extra session, this time I'm making a video of
the Thursday night webinar available, so you can watch it TODAY.

Click the link below to watch the video of my 68 minute
    training webinar:

But watch this video NOW. I may be pulling it down later today
    or first thing tomorrow.

    Best wishes,
    Al

P.S. I'll be PULLING DOWN THE VIDEO soon. Please go to that URL
as soon as you can. If you miss it, you may not get another
    chance. Here's the URL again:

    Hell yeah! Hell no!
    Found it. My original question:

Mr. Simon, I am curious, the web site mentions 10 years of research. Is there a book or a magazine that lists this research? I am somewhat curious to see what it entailed, if possible.

    -Demitri
    Hi Demitri -
    Thank you for your email.
No, I've never published the full research we did. I did do a few
magazine articles while we were in the middle of it, but they
weren't about the research per se. They were more about the
training techniques we were using at the time, as well as the
"operational mindset" we were using as teachers.
You'll find the article about training techniques in the Summer
2000 issue of The Empty Vessel. You'll find the "mindset" article
in the Winter 2002-2003 issue of Qi: The Journal of Traditional
    Eastern Health and Fitness.
Once again, we were in the middle of our research at the time I
wrote those articles, so the entire program did evolve since that
    time.
But if you are more interested in how we went about our "research
project", I do mention it on my website. Here's a copy-and-paste
    of that section:
    ----
I've been practicing the ancient arts of Tai Chi and Qigong
(pronounced "chee gung") over the last 30 years. I learned my
first Qigong exercises back in 1975 (back when it was called
"Chinese yoga"), and began learning Tai Chi in 1984.

My teaching partner, Carole Taylor, has been practicing Tai Chi
and Qigong for almost 15 years, and is a certified Health and
Nutrition Advisor whose specialty is health and longevity.
Over a decade ago, Carole and I started a "research project" into
the benefits of Tai Chi and Qigong. We wanted to find a way to
help our students get all the amazing benefits from these "Chi
energy arts" quickly and easily, without having to practice long
and hard (like we did!) before seeing results.
    We took a three-step approach:

    1. We sought out well-known, high quality Qigong/Tai Chi masters
and senior instructors. We took the best of each of their
approaches and discarded what didn't work.
    2. Then we took what we learned and "field-tested" it. We tested
each technique with real-life students and solicited detailed
feedback from them about what worked and what didn't, in every
    class and workshop we taught.

    3. We also did research on teaching methods. We learned about
both historical approaches and contemporary teaching methods. We
used our backgrounds in education (I'm a college-trained
educator) to find the most effective methods of teaching. We also
researched modern theories in communication and general
semantics. We also took courses in the most effective methods of
presentation and promotion for this program.

WE TESTED EVERY exercise and approach through research and
student feedback to make sure it brought immediate and direct
benefits. While many Tai Chi teachers pride themselves on
teaching "traditionally," we chose not to include anything in our
program just because it was traditional. Every exercise had to
bring benefits, whether it was traditional or modern.

IF WE FOUND an exercise or approach brought direct and immediate
benefits, we made it a part of the program. If an exercise or an
approach didn't bring any direct benefits, or if it brought
benefits too slowly, we discarded it. Then we went looking for
something better to take its place.

Over a period of several years, we finally came up with an
approach to Tai Chi and Qigong that could literally bring
benefits in just a few minutes of practice a day. We found that
you don't need to practice long and hard - as long as your
practice is focused and directed, so that it is the most
    efficient possible.
    ---
Keep in mind though, we didn't start with the idea of teaching
this remotely online. We were just teachers of a 12-person Tai
Chi class looking for the best way to help our students. But
after we finished our research project, we found that the
approach we developed to getting benefits from Tai Chi and Qigong
was nearly fool-proof. As a matter of fact, it was so close to
fool-proof that it could be taught not only in person, but also
remotely through distance learning - all the while still
providing an amazingly high level of benefits.
    Best wishes,
    Al
Again, nice enough guy, keeps to the qi gong territory, but can come off as passive aggressive, and seems to be somewhat unconcerned with Taijiquan as martial art.

He sounds a bit like the Tai Chi version of the 'hey guys watch my videos and review and rate or i'm gonna stop making them' kids on YouTube.

Seems like his heart's in the right place when it comes to wishing to prevent injuries caused by poorly-practised TC though.
