Sanda has beaten Karate before, but if it's a karate guy on a level to compete in K-1 vs a professional Sanda fighter, then I would have to go for karate.
At that higher level, one can capitalize karate's strengths/minimize its weaknesses better than an average fighter, who might be at a disadvantage vs. Sanda, which is less restrictive.
