Ah good, now the thread has returned to classic metal.

P.S. Another Angra cover from when they had their first/best lineup...of a Kate Bush song (WTF?). Dood sings higher notes than her....

Sorry, I think you meant to post this-

    YouTube- ‪Death - Painkiller‬‎

Better guitar, better drums, and while Chuck Schuldiner's vocals aren't quite human-sounding, at least they're more interesting than another Halford wannabe.

I'm becoming an old fart fast at 34. :-(

Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, Slayer, Metallica, Megadeth and Motorhead I know and like, the rest is just over my head :-(

Fun fact: Motorhead does not consider themselves a metal band.

I wouldn't consider Rammstein, Ministry, or White Zombie metal either! Industrial for the first two, 3rd, dunno/whatever. Ministry had two albums I liked a lot, too much noise for me now though.

Also Angra did not suck with their original lineup, and Andre Matos isn't a Halford wannabe, sounds nothing like him aside from being able to go very high which is almost every good metal vocalist! Their only real flaw was they often drifted pretty far from metal, but it was interesting, a lot of stuff influenced by Brazilian folk music. Nowadays they're just another generic power metal band.

Maybe he's not normally, but he sure is trying there, and attempting to sound like Halford on a Judas Priest cover is just a recipe for failure.

You're entitled to your opinion, but I don't really see it, he has such a fairy-like voice compared to Halford (and no deeper register, not that it matters on that song). Matos was one of the finalists being considered to replace Dickinson when he briefly left Maiden too (trivia).

The Death cover was actually good though when I got around to listening to it. Pretty sure their vocals would drive me nuts on their normal songs, however, the 2nd solo is really well done.

Well, the thread title says 'this is metal', but no specification of substyle.

So far I've seen heavy, classic, speed, trash, industrial and death.

One of the 'newer' bands that I like is Samal, especially their 'Reign of Light' album.

Industrial/heavy metal with some eastern influences:

    Samal - Moongate
    YouTube- ‪Tomb Raider - Samaël‬‎

    Samal - On earth
    YouTube- ‪Samael - On Earth‬‎
