C-C-C-Combo breaker. Let's do something a bit different.
ARK (not the Swedish pop band but the Norwegian prog metal group) put out an awesome CD called Burn the Sun back in 2001.
This is the title track.
Freak Kitchen is a Swedish prog metal / hard rock band. Let's lull you a bit with a slower song. It helps that it's awesome though.
Here's more pretty damn progressive stuff from my friend's band, Depth Beyond One. Not sure if they are doing anything anymore, but all of them are talented as hell.
More Swedish goodness, Pain of Salvation with Scarsick:
Finally not to ignore Finnish proge metal completely I'll end with a high note: the hit track from Stam1na's latest album (Nocebo), Valtiaan uudet vaatteet (with a great video!)
Curiosity killed the cat. But damn it had a blast. -

Style: Muay Thai--
My drastically increased running schedule here in Thailand means I need a lot of stuff to keep me moving. This has led to my rediscovering my love for melo-death. I know that's typically European territory, but The Absence shows that American metal can be more than grunting, chest-pounding wannabe alpha male stupidity.
