You can't kill the metal
The metal will live on
Punk rock tried to kill the metal
But they failed, as they were smite to the ground
New wave tried to kill the metal
But they failed, as they were stricken down to the ground
Grunge tried to kill the metal
They failed, as they were thrown to the ground
No one can destroy the metal
The metal will strike you down with a vicious blow
We are the vanquished foes of the metal
We tried to win for why we do not know
New wave tried to destroy the metal, but the metal had its way
Grunge then tried to dethrone the metal, but metal was in the way
Punk rock tried to destroy the metal, but metal was much too strong
Techno tried to defile the metal, but techno was proven wrong
It comes from Hell

Classical music (Bach, Beethoven, Mozart to Moussorsky to Poledouris) gives us that raw emotional response through sound...compared to today's pop which is utterly shallow, classical pieces are complex music and evoke strength, fear, rage, and all sorts of other emotions in very intricate ways.
I feel metal took that and modernized it, and look at the outcome in "Heavy Metal Bagdhad". You won't find any electronic musicians, pianists, cellists, mariachis, or anyone else meeting secretly under threat of mortar fire to practice and perform live shows.
But the one fucking metal band (Acrassicauda) would do it. That's what metal ultimately is, music aside. \m/-
To me, metal is the evolution of classical music...it's Bach plugged into a wall of 1000W amps and blasted in your face for the sole purpose of letting you purge life's frustrations into a blossom of violent song.
Even Fox News likes Acrassicauda! ("they dared to play Western style music...were targeted by insurgents for it").
Ah metal...bringing angry people of all faiths closer together.

But you need to post a video so we can truly communicate about metal...it's kind of like Zen to me. Talking about metal isn't metal at all. You need to either play it, share it, or just listen.
Here bro. Do you know how many times I've defended AC/DC, your countrymen, as metal pioneers, to stupid American kids that don't know a thing about metal? In fact, Angus and his brother are my favorite hard rock/metal guitarists. When I play metal, Angus is my role model.
And in fact, it was from Angus Young that I first glimpsed the fine art of headbanging.

I went to their Sydney show last time they were here, at the Hordern. It was awesome, that venue kicks arse. They're in Acer Arena this time, not sure how I feel about that, but I am on the floor.
I cannot wait to see As I Lay Dying. Their last two albums are fucking epic.
