Evilenzo, I remember watching a documentary about some Italian sport that was essentially two teams (I think from two different towns) beating the crap out of each other and occasionally moving a ball towards a goal. I think it was called something like "coucho", but I haven't been able to find anything else about it. Ring any bells? I remember the clip I saw showed a ref getting a FSK to the head.

I'm not Evilenzo, but I think its Calcio Fiorentino or something like that. AFAIK the teams came from different quarters of Florence and matches often ended with city scale battles between the occupants of those quarters so they mixed the teams. They also added some age limits because many teams had veteran players in their 50's.

Awesome. I have been looking off and on for that for almost 15 years. It's like rugby played by prisoners, but with more headlocks after the tackles.

    Found it!
Keyoz and Arcan are both right. It's a traditional sport played in Firenze, Florence in english, and although nowadays it's getting more violent and less tactical it's still very loved!

    YouTube- Finale calcio storico fiorentino

We have lots of violent stuff here in Italy, even horse races are crazy things!
Have you ever heard of the "Battaglia delle arance di Ivrea" Ivrea's battle of the oranges? It's basically their version of a mardě gras parade, except for one thing. There's a wagon full of oranges and some people ride on it launching oranges at full speed on other people, which will have their own oranges to launch!
