ciscodog, Al told me his father learned from the Sakugawa family. As he explained it, his father was in WWII and on Okinawa and had rescued the family from a cave, so they taught him. I have looked into this, but with my limited internet skills I never found anything.

Sakugawa died in 1815, and i would find it incredible that he was taught by a direct family descendant well over 100 years later.

well, it raised flags for too, that is why I tried to look it up. I am terrible at computer stuff and found nothing in my searching. That is in part why I joined this site, I figured some one with better skills might find more, as people around here seem to be good at researching and argueing to draw out the truth. It's hard enough for folks to find good teachers and it becomes even harder when the waters are further muddied by deception, or exaggerations.
