    Sleeping Aids?

I have been having a lot of trouble falling asleep lately. I will be tired, but my thoughts won't stop running through my head. I did take some Motrin PM last night and it felt great but I know its not something I can rely on.

So if anybody knows of a great affordable supplement please post.

"Change your Brain Change your Life" is where you should be looking.

Amazon.com: Change Your Brain, Change Your Life: The Breakthrough Program for Conquering Anxiety, Depression, Obsessiveness, Anger, and Impulsiveness (9780812929980): Daniel G. Amen: Books

For now, all of the over the counter items are benadryl based:

Get the cheap stuff and take 2 or 3 before bed, and until you can find out the problem.

I'll check out the book but it sucks that all over the counter stuff is just allergy medication.

I tend to think about anything. Mostly doing some sort of physical activity or playing some game. Then I get restless and its impossible for me to fall asleep cause my fatigue kind of just goes away

    Melatonin is a popular supplement.

    Personally, I like whiskey.

    Lorazepam.
Its a form of valium and can be addictive if abused. But if you use them properly, they work great.
I only take one 1mg pill if I REALLY( ie. important meeting the next morning) need to get to sleep and can't for some reason...
I know many people on here wouldn't reccommend something like this, but it works for me. I only take them once or twice a month.
Oh, and do NOT mix with whiskey unless you want to pass out immediately.

I'd stay away from that if you could. Read the Brain book and see if you can get a handle on the underlying problems.

    I take melatonin at times.

    http://www.vitaminlady.com/naturespl...eep-assure.asp

Or a few beers or a good whiskey when the weekend permits.

Being one that sleeps around 5 to maybe 6 hours, the melatonin does help drop off for the night.

You should be sleeping more than that, read the book....

Its really best to try and find other solutions and leave medication as a last resort.
