    The New BJJ Gi Survey

    Hey,

In order to expand on the current knowledge base we have on Brazilian Jiu Jitsu gis, I've composed this survey. It is based off of the survey written by Aesopian, but more directed and comprehensive in the area of BJJ Gi Brands and sizing. I hope the results of this survey will expand the knowledge base of BJJ practitioners and Gi producers so that better products can be developed for the BJJ community.

The survey should take about 5 minutes to complete:

I have 730 responses. It's only a short while until I reach 1000 respondents and I can release the results and begin analysis on the numbers.

Please take the survey if you haven't - if you have, please pass it along!

Remember folks, threads like these do not have as strict requirements as technique threads so if you have a comment you want to make about the study or one of the gi mentioned in the study, feel free.

YMAS type comments will still not be tolerated. Stay on topic or GTFO.

Another plus of Breakpoint gi's is that apparently you receive two gi pants. Also they are better for slimmer lanky people do to the difference in sizes (like a2 atama vs. Breakpoint a2). I'm pretty sure they'll be my next gi.

Will there be sort of price comparison that comes with the survey? I just took it, and I thought, "How much are you willing to pay for a new gi?" would have made a good question.

Thanks for the second survey. Honestly for Jiu Jitsu I am big fan of Koral. A bit pricey but very comfortable, light and strong. In fact after I bought the MKM for BJJ and ended up getting a Classic for JJJ.

Anyway I do appreciate the survey. I am getting back into competition Judo and I couldn't decide between a Mizuno or Adidas for a new Judo Gi (the Korals are tapered to short for Judo). But considering how low Adidas scored of this and Aeospian's survey, I think I'll go with Mizuno.

It's a shame that so many of the top-scoring brands in this and Aesopian's survey seem really hard to get hold of - like permanently sold out.

I bought a Padilla and Sons which is cheap and cheerful, but I would love to get a Shoyoroll if I could ever find one that wasn't in giant or midget size.
