Be very careful with that one, I had a fellow blue belt separate my rib doing that, it took 4 weeks before I could roll (but I'm an old fart and heal slow). The pressure happens suddenly, and if you don't tap quickly you can get hurt.

Also would like to hear the answer to these questions. Also, where is the pressure supposed to BE? It looks like the uke's upper rib cage is being squeezed in, from what I know the rib cage is very strong... or is this more aimed at the floating ribs?

To get my thick head around this it is basicly a crush done with your knees in their ribs. Sort of lock your legs together and extend up?

Did not know about it before I was injured, it is not something that Marcio ever taught while I was in class.

same here, i think i avoided the possible injury because I became a very fast tapper...

from what i gather from the prev posts, i think bjj players need to be more aware of this move and learn to defend or tap quickly to avoid getting hurt (kinda like kneebars)

there are more than a couple of things i do from my side.

if you're setting this up and they fall over, is it possible to finish it?

I could not see why not. Thats funny I can not ever remeber seeing two people on their sides while holding guard other then people doing gi chokes as people generally try and get top position as soon as there is an chance. What do you do from your side btw?.
