BTW, quit editing your post so your story gets better every time.

This is the third version I've seen. Why didn't you bother to mention "the guy coming at you" in the first edit? I'd think that would be farily memorable.

Where were you that the first guy was bragging with a wooden knife and a heavy bag conveniently nearby? And why did this guy just happen to have a plastic knife handy at the time for an impromptu demo? Do you hang out at the fight gym constantly waiting for guys to come in bragging about their arts? If so, when do you find time to post over 100 times in only a few short weeks?

    15? Really?

Maybe this will keep him distracted long enough to stunt his growing post count...

That, or Kendo figure-skating. (Sorry for the derail, I couldn't resist spreading the brain-damage ~ besides, this thread was gone when I got here.)

But I didn't think they used real blades in kendo.

They don't use skates either. :biblethum
I wonder if those wankers could feel their brains being damaged while they were having the idea to do something like that - then again, the damage might have been pre-existing.

Actually, using a live blade in Kendo kata is not unheard-of, but it is rare (in my limited experience) that serious practitioners walk that close to the line.

Since this is mostly a thread about nothing and will likely end up in trollshido I would like to share a story.

Back when I was still teaching I had a FMA guy come in one day because he was looking for a school to teach out of. I let him show me what he knew and what his teaching style was. He knew his stuff and was pretty good with his stick and knife technique but he had one major deal breaker against him. He insisted on teaching using sharp machetes. I couldn't believe it. For some reason he could not understand why that would be a problem for me.
