My 4th MMA Fight! (Vids included)

This Friday night, I had my 4th amateur MMA fight. This was, by far, my biggest and most important fight to date. My opponent was supposed to be a really good Muay Thai fighter, who is a coach at a pretty renowned gym -- Sityodtong Boston. Even more importantly, the gym I'm fighting out of is up and coming and relatively unknown at the moment, especially in the MMA scene. To win a fight against a big name gym, amateur or not, would be a big deal for us.

They got his record wrong. He's not 3-0, but actually 1-0 in MMA. But apparently he's a pro in Muay Thai 4-3 (according to the Sityodtong website).

On an interesting sidenote, I had this fight on my birthday! It was supposed to be the night before my b-day, but I didn't fight until after 12.
It won fight of the night and was pretty exciting if I may say so myself. So now I'll shut up and you can watch the video...

He's the guy in the white shorts that won the fight. You can hear the camera man talking about him later in the fight.

    Great fight btw.

Why does Mass let a pro in muay thai fight at amateur in MMA?

No idea. I've also seen pro boxers fight amateur MMA. As a pro MMA fighter, you can participate in amateur muay thai or ammy boxing. I guess they just feel like the sports are different enough or something... That and the fact that combat sports in mass got sanctioned, like, two months ago. They're not exactly on top of things, and prior to sanctioning, people could do whatever they want.

Dude I WISH I had like 30 more seconds. I felt like I had that arm pretty tight at the end...
