    Hell yeah! Hell no!

    new heavyweight rankings...

    SHERDOG

    2. Fabricio Werdum (14-4-1)
Werdum improbably seized the biggest moment of his career on June 26. It took the grappling star just 69 seconds to end Fedor Emelianenko’s seven-plus-year reign over the heavyweight division. Whether Werdum’s next bout is a rematch against Emelianenko or former victim Alistair Overeem, his victory will remain a massive moment in MMA history.

    *****************

I couldn't find any other updated rankings but what do you think about this?

What ranking in the heavyweight division (in the world) werdum, fedor or brock should have? Werdum is really the second now?

What are your opinions? (Or you just dont give a **** at all? Thats an opinion too i guess :phil2:)

Sherdog seriously is that site the biggest inside joke in the history of the internet?

I have always liked sherdog's rankings. It's not easy making rankings that even a fraction of the readers would agree with.

That said, if Matt Serra was #1 when he knocked over GSP, then Werdum is #1 after knocking over Fedor. Can't have it both ways. You either automatically take a guy's spot when you beat him, or you move up and he moves down by whatever face-punching based calculus you use to determine these things.

Is Werdum really, really #1 because he beat Fedor? Nah. Might he deserve to hold that spot for the honor of his achievement? Debatable. Does anyone who knocks him over deserve to be #1 now? Not by a long shot. So... #2. Fair compromise. It'll likely go down soon enough.

Watch for Overeem's victory over Werdum to catapult him far higher up the rankings than it warrants, based on this #2 placement. Of course, unless Emelianenko gets the immediate rematch people are talking about.

Poor Werdum if that rematch happens.

Off topic, but did anyone else sort of expect the world to implode when Fedor tapped? Like it was one of those "That can't have just happened" moments for me. Not that I was that upset or shocked, it just seemed surreal seeing Fedor tap.
