BJJ and Judo are both tough when it comes to seeing your own progress, because as you get better, your training partners are also.

Stick with it, and one day you'll run into a new student, and you'll see just how much you learned and just how far you improved.

Thanks for the advice guys, just thought I'd let you know that I have no problem getting tapped umpteen times, because that just shows me how effective the art can be.

I deserve this criticism, very few people are likely to ignore my flaws, unlike people on the net. That is intended as a compliment.

    Thanks again.

Just keep at it. Probably one of the harder things to accept about martial arts training is, no matter how good your are or have improved. Someone is ALWAYS going to be better. Next time you get tapped out, don't fret. Roll your sleeves up and go at it again.

That or go and shoot every person better then you in the knee cap. Raises confidence and eliminates competition! :icon_mrgr

I suppose in competition, losing is a bad thing.

But in training, losing is not negative at all. Very few lessons are learned from winning.

As an example, kendoka are taught to appreciate losses, because it is by defeating us and showing us our weaknesses that our training partners have potentially helped us win real competitions later.

A sensei once told me that there is no winning or losing in training, merely teaching and learning.

Fedor lost yesterday. Everyone loses sometime.

It's not about winning, it's about taking part, training hard, toughening the **** up and being a player.

Unless it's a competition, then it's about winning.

Get back out there, be humble, roll well and enjoy learning.

BUT there are those ones who are actually worse than you and will come up to you and talk **** about what you do. Well those are not nice but these people are everywhere not in MA world only.

    So you better just
