    6'3" 240lbs of twisted steel and sex appeal, large and in charge, rough, tough and hard to bluff, a suntanned muscleman who is talking loud and drawing a crowd.

    Well I am 6'3" and 240lbs. I don't know about that other stuff. I'm looking to do S/U only this time, my shoulder is too jacked for rolling.

    I'm also 45 this year so you can factor that **** into the Bat computer as well.

    got the MRI results. what i thought was just a really bad charley horse is actually a torn quadriceps, doc says 3 months to full recovery, so i guess you guys have a dedicated camera man for this thing now. :(

    What does it feel like? I've had a shitty feeling around my knee for a while now but I've just been putting it off since I have no health insurance. Though it's been going on long enough that I might actually just man up and pay for all that ****.

    it's an almost constant ache in my thigh, going up to my hip and down to my knee, only this ache is way worse than any ache i have ever had. the pain is different from almost any other injury i have had, and i've had a lot (torn meniscus, torn rotator cuff, fractured orbital, fractured and dislocated toes...)

    this is the first one that the pain pills (tramadol in this case) do not alleviate the pain at all, which is super fucked up.

    if you have a shitty feeling in your knee, then that may be something to worry about but it's not a torn quadriceps. i hear you about the lack of health insurance and the hassle of getting an MRI (i lived with knee pain and no insurance for years) but you know what happened when i finally got an MRI of my knee? it showed that i have a meniscus tear but not bad enough for surgery, so i was told to "play through the pain" for now.

    if i were you, i would work on getting some insurance, because paying out of pocket for an MRI or knee surgery is no joke. the only way to get a free MRI that i know of is to volunteer for a research study (or work in an MRI lab like i do) but unfortunately for you, we don't have any studies that would want to image your knee (if you want to get an image of your brain, then maybe i could suggest a study or two to volunteer for.)

    anyway, sorry for the derail, take it PM if you want to chat more about this.

    I'll be there.

    6' 1", 190ish. Haven't trained in a year, I've been rehabbing a bunch of annoying shoulder problems. This will be the litmus test to see if I can resume semi-regular training again.

    Standing and ground grappling only.
    Go placidly amid the noise and haste,
    and remember what peace there may be in silence.
    As far as possible, without surrender,
    be on good terms with all persons.
    Speak your truth quietly and clearly;
    and listen to others,
    even to the dull and ignorant;
    they too have their story.

    -excerpt of the poem called "Desiderata," by Max Ehrman, 1927.
