Her hat wasn't the first thing I noticed.

    I meant his hat.

I didn't even realise she was wearing a hat.

Congrats on the win. I am going to have to change my style, though. I have the same beard and often wear an Akubra.

    Kevin, you are the man.
Technical question: From the video it looked like you took the guy down with a koshi guruma/head and arm throw. This is something I learned to avoid in no-gi situations, due to either getting bridged over or losing my back on landing one too many times; I'm sure you've seen it yourself.
Would you care to go to into the finer points of landing on-position with this throw without getting countered?

Good job, Kevin. But now the pressure is on. If you lose, and someone Google's your name and sees this thread, they'll probably register and be all like "Yo Kevin's fulla **** he no longer undefeated!". So...there's that.

Do you build cardio by trying to get over yourself and failing?

    Congrats on the win.

    Short answer: LOTS of uchikomi.

Long answer: I try to throw my opponent so he lands as flaty on his back as possible, thereby minimizing his ability to roll with momentum. By tightly securing the arm and driving more in a straight downward motion instead of a broad sweeping motion, I'm also able to further reduce his ability to roll through. Ideally, I like to throw near the fence so that in case he does try to roll me, I can bolster myself against the cage wall for added support. In the end, it's really about repitition and self-confidence. I'm a former Judo Collegiate Bronze Nationalist. I KNOW my Judo really works and isn't just some half-assed YMCA jerk-off Judo. Hope this helps!
