Not rotten shark, i did eat shark though.
it was sorta shark flesh, which they scraped and processed into twirled snacks which were deep fried.
it tasted okay, but i wouldnt want to spend money on it.
(i ate it at some exotic food convention)
also in iceland and indonesia they eat fish and shrimp what we would consider to be rotten.
the idonesian shrimps are called trashi if im not mistaken. -

shark used to be common fare in the US. I always feel funny about eating an apex predator though, sort of like "hey you don't eat me I won't eat you ok?"
Rotten fish products are believe it or not one of those incredibly healthy things, they have all kinds of enzymes and stuff that are wonderful.
the Roman's favorite condiment was a combo of fish guts and vinegar, the name escapes me... the thai's have fish sauce, the Koreans make these wonderful marinated raw blue crabs that they let slightly putrefy... over rice it tastes really sweet and tender, just divine!
Actually really good aged beef is also ever so slightly putrified. It tendorizes the meat and when done in the absence of other bacteria is ok. Putrefication breaks down and makes the meat more digestile in some ways, go figure.This thread never was a high quality conversation - My friend vern Gilbert on the William Acquier thread.
