If you really want to salvage something from your TKD days learn these two adaptations:
1) Learn how to "wipe" someone's guard away with a crescent kick or axe kick then punch them in the face. Target the hands here to get their guard down. Then step in off the kick and hit em with a cross.
2) Learn how to land spinning back kicks under full contact conditions. The timing is a little different and it has to be part of a combination but a spinning back kick is still pretty devastating.
