The last guy to do seppuku, like in the 60's/70's, had his buddy...a high level kendo guy...be his second (cuts off head after guy opens himself up). Being that he uses shinai...he fucked his job real bad and it took a couple tries to get his buddy's head off. In the words of Dave Chappelle; When keeping it real, goes wrong.

Yes. And while I never heard the story about his be-header being a kendoka, you really should get someone who does kenjutsu or iaido for that sort of thing.

Mishima was an interesting dude, and his books are worth reading, as they lend an insight to his outlook, and a part of japan which doesnt exist any more, possibly for the better.

I've read some of his essays and actually met an old friend/translator of his a couple of years back. He was an interesting guy even if parts of his life were...well, insane.

As for Silva if he wants a challenge besides just goofing off inside the ring... then actually try to win using only aikido for grappling and capoeria for striking. I think he is one of the few people in the world who could actually pull that off.

BTW, Morita failed to stab himself properly. But the beheading took care of him.
