I've read some of his essays and actually met an old friend/translator of his a couple of years back. He was an interesting guy even if parts of his life were...well, insane.
As for Silva if he wants a challenge besides just goofing off inside the ring... then actually try to win using only aikido for grappling and capoeria for striking. I think he is one of the few people in the world who could actually pull that off. -
