New York MMA Examiner Style: magic FUCKING powers!
And so, let them be great again.
Look, guys. We were once the best throwdown crew in the country- reflective of how much better our city is than other, stupid cities where people don't even know what you're talking about when you order a bagel with lox.
But, a combination of injuries and the dreaded IRL have kept us from having a good turnout or any footage at all to play with some Aerosmith of Jackson Browne in the background. And I know, I'm just as much to blame as anyone.
So, I suggest we just take a good long time to plan a great throwdown that all the old and new faces who are willing to come can make it. Let's stick with quality before we get to quantity.
Right now, I say we shoot for a weekend in late July. However, everyone just list all their free times. If we can do it sooner, we will.
As a personal note, I've doubled the amount of time I put in training per week since the last big throwdown in December and started engaging in regimented diet and conditioning habbits. So, it'll be nice to see if you guys have still progressed faster and will knock me down a peg, yet again.

I'm moving to Brooklyn on 25th August, not to mention that I have teh d34dly n00b old-man strength and yesterday came second in the Saturday morning dojo sit-up competition (50 in a minute bitches).
If you can keep it hard that long, I'm in.

Well someone owes me a damn beer(preferably 8-10) from the last one so I'm game.
Recently been slacking off as I've left my old gym and just partying it up a lot. Hell, started social smoking again. But regardless, I would love to train with new faces and styles. Any weekend after July 10th/11th is good for me.
Also, anyone know of a good or cheap physical therapist? Cause I don't have health insurance.

As my way of contributing to this throwdown, I will be sure to check any and all dates proposed for holidays.

i may be biased, but i think they started going downhill when i stopped organizing them (who else was willing to schlepp a duffel bag full of loaner gear down to fight house and clean the matts before everyone showed up?) before anyone asks, no, i won't return to the organizer role (PM me, or ask me in person if you want to talk about why.)
i am down to attend, but lately my participation has been very limited, as i need to be very careful about injuries (getting enough of them in judo alone, thank you very much) and i need to be fit to compete in judo (gotta get those promotion points!) so if you see me not doing much active sparring, it is because at this point i will only spar with people i know pretty well (especially when it comes to striking.)
have we worked out a location? if fight house is really not coming back (i haven't checked) then we have a big problem and need to find a space. sambo steve has given us space before, but if we get a real old-style turnout his gym won't be big enough.
i say location first, then we work on a date that works for that location and take it from there.

I wouldn't mind turning out to get some S/U in. July 18th is good.

Just tell me when and I'll be there to beat on you guys and buy beer to those I owe.
P.S. Okay you motherfuckers need to give Ming a solid cultural identity. He's an Irish guy who does Chinese kung-fu, Japanese Judo, married a Japanese woman and he's ALSO Loki the Norse god of deceit!?
WHAT THE FUKK!?

July 18th works for me. I'm willing to carpool with anyone from Jersey or kick some gas and lunch money if someone were to drive me.
