To all the people jumping all over Matt for starting this gong sau thread, I want to clear something up...

Most of this has all been mentioned before, but as a reminder, many of us had concerns about Chuck prior to this thread and we had attempted to deal with the issues at hand off the forum with various admin and other key players to no avail. It was clear that the only way to address these issues was to get Chuck talking in public and for the people here who have some power to see it. The gong sau as a means to this was my idea. I suggested it to Matt as a possible way to bring Chuck out in the open and get him talking without breaking certain confidentialities.

So, to all those who are saying things like "the gong sau was stupid, but the background check, threats, and judo concerns that came up later are real issues"...

There would have been no public discussion of ss#'s, cyber threats, questionable background checks, investigation protocol, ethics, Chuck's judo ranks, etc, if there was no gong sau thread.

So, if you guys want to trash Matt, you can throw me in with that as well.

All I will say in my defense is that I have dedicated so much time and energy to this place. I can only say that I would never have suggested this if I thought there was another way. Regardless of whether I was going to resign or not.

A proper investigation thread started in MABS would have captured the SAME audience.

An investigation thread without the obvious personal attributes at the end of the first post would have created a much more credible platform on which to base the continued thread.

An investigation thread which contained links, direct quotes etc in a chronological order would have presented the information those concerned wished to aire, in a much more professional and less vindictive way.

See my point ?
