Most systems are integrated, so you'll learn them all. How the curriculum is structured depends on the teacher. Some schools do start you with weapons and then move in to empty hand. I teach everything at once, so you can make the connections from stick to knife to hand. Certainly, there are times we focus on one aspect, but I don't make my students start with stick, then move to knife, then move to empty hand.

Keep in mind that while Bourne primarily was an empty hand guy, he used a weapon whenever one was available, so learning weapons will only help your empty hand skills.

If you're looking for good stuff on Panantukan, Ron Balicki has a great DVD series.

    This is Ron Balicki's series.

If you want to be Jason Bourne, this is the only place to go. Ron Balicki is a contemporary of Jeff Imada, who choreographed the Bourne series. They both trained under Dan Inosanto.

Alternately, you can come train with me if you like;p. I come out of the same lineage.

Which part of BJJ teaches you how to maintain range with a weapon and use an attack by draw to close the distance again?

Thank you Bodhi for the very generous offer, but unfortunately, I can't. I'm not that rich, and I cannot afford to travel very far. So I'm trying to learn as much as I can here on youtube. I know it's not ideal, but I have no means at the moment.

Thank you for the link. I watched it and watched his other videos. He seem to be a very good striker, and he looks like he trains in a way that he tries to insert his t attacks during and opponet's attack, not while when the attacker freezes (like some Kali systems show)

I like these guys, they look like regular worker guys you can find in the street. It's like these guys can be porters or waiters but if you piss them off, they could mutilate you. No offense to flipinos, I mean it in a good way. I'd be very very cautious not to piss a filipino, even if he doesn't look like much. Again, I don't mean it in a bad way.
Look at their stick video. Not as cool as the dogbrothers (wooo they are crazy and hardcore), but I guess they're ok.
