Can verify that the local fighter, Brent Weedman, is a beast and expect a victory by TKO.

also on the card is david overfield vs kurt kinser
that fight should be pretty good. David has sick jiu jitsu and kurt has ridiculous wrestling.

Fights were outstanding! Joe Warren came back after a tough first round to take a 29-28 split decision. That was a battle! Weedman won by armbar with about 14 seconds left on round 1. And Zoila Frausto is the real deal. She had the only true KO of the night.

IMHO, Pitbull basically gave that fight away. Essentially in the second round. When Warren got that take-down and just kind of layed there on his back trying to throw up a Triangle.

Shlemenko showed me he has knockout power. He was the only one out of the whole tournament who finished his opponent in the finals. All the other ones were decisions. Of course that whole "doing it for the strikers" thing is a little odd and I think he is just playing it up...considering who his next fight is with.

Damn! I'm totally in love with Zoila Frausto...and her sister!

I wasn't surprised by Shlemenko. The common denominator in the fights of his that I've seen: he's one incredibly tough sumbitch. Along with being the poster boy for Buddy Shuts.

Pitbull was a great disappointment, though. His previous fights were so impressive that I'd have given some odds. (Fortunately I'm not the betting sort.)

You could make a good case for a 10-8 first round, so technically the fight could be called a draw. I mean, he hit that guy with everything he threw: lead hooks, right uppercuts -- hell, he even took the greco-roman guy down and abused him. Almost looked like he was toying with him. A bit more urgency and that fight would have ended in the first.

Then everything went to hell in the second round, where he seemed to adopt the Nog strategy of taking a bunch of damage while looking for an opening to finish. Likewise round three.

Which is not to take anything from Warren. He weathered a huge onslaught and came back harder.
