    Hell yeah! Hell no!

You gonna help me understand here...

    Greetings,

I'm just curious. I've seen and read so much negative stuff about Wing chun (most fun vids out there) and i really, really, don't understand why people can be attracted by this martial art. o.O

I've searched the forums but found nothing about "what brings people to wing chun".

Are they masters using some hypnotic schemes ? Are people attracted by some theory the teachers are able to display as "logic" and "perfect". Is it sorcery ?

Is it just a marketing thing about Bruce Lee ? (big guess)

I don't get it. Why people are brought Wing Chun ?

Reasons (Both Stupid and Less So) do Wing Chun:

    1. Bruce Lee did it.

2.Trapping is cool when it works

    3.Bruce Lee did it

    4. Makes you think you can fight without having to go through the potential pain, embarassment of pressure testing or being athletic.

    5.Bruce Lee Did it.

    6. Kung-fu not imitating random animals is inherently less silly than doing 5-Monkey Tiger Claw kung fu.

    Bruce Lee did it.

    Denied.

Yee gee kim yeung ma (aka capturing goat nut squeezing stance) in application will always look totally stupid.

Seriously, look at all the Wing Chun schools of the world and the number of people practicing it. Is it all about Bruce Lee and just that ? So every chunner has a fantasy of becoming the next Bruce Lee?

Look at it, the power of the illusion is amazing. So many people endoctrined ? o.O

Also Hollywood makes Kung-Fu seem way more BA than it is.
