It seems like a strange marketing strategy to not try to get at least ONE big fight when you are marketing both your own brand AND trying to get recognition through EA.

Mid-tier professional fights have as much chance of being interesting as the top-tier ones, but I think they will have a hard time drawing in new fans to the sport with this. It looks like I will have to buy that EA SPORTS MMA-game, if nothing else then for the nostalgia of remembering Strikeforce.

What is a big fight exactly?

Winner of Renato Sobral vs. Robbie Lawler at catch weight of 195 gets a title shot in his respective weight division. 185 for Lawler, 205 for Sobral.
Lawler beat Murilo Rua for the Strikeforce 185 lb championship, defended it 1.5 times and lost it to Jake Shields when he got sloppy. Renato Sobral had won 10 in a row, including three in a row in the UFC before losing in his title shot against Chuck Liddell. One ex-champion against a previous title contender.

Marius Zaromskis vs. Evangelista 'Cyborg' Santos will be lots of fistic action, someone is getting knocked out

Is this free? If so, I think it's pretty solid. Babalu is a good fighter, Zaromskis and Cyborg should be a good stand up war, and KJ Noons? I'm more excited for Fedor on the 26th though.

Fistic always looks really weird as a word to me. "FISTIC"

Shelby, it's airing on Showtime, so if you have cable it's free.

Kennedy was IMPRESSIVE. And so far all of the fights have been pretty good. Cyborg looked like he still belonged at 185 in his fight though. HUGE compared to Zaromskis.

Strong card. Not top of the line, but definitely a success for Strikeforce. I hope they focus more on putting out solid events like this one, instead of trying to do stuff on CBS or whatever and failing all over the place.

Is it just me, or does Mauro seem to really shine behind a podium?
