I agree with whoever said that it'll probably just be that since guns exist, unarmed martial arts are BULLSHIT!
And for self-defense, I gotta agree. Maybe some sumo for stopping the bum rush and creating space and angles to access your CCW, but other than that weapons are where it's at. -

Actually the Cheerleader show last night was upsetting. I want to check the facts before I comment, but it seems that they are at very high risk and people are ignoring it.

The show was pretty spot on, as usual, on the risk part. Cheerleading is a pretty risky considering girls are getting flung around and complex stunts without safety equipment. Even gymnasts have some protection.
EDIT: I'm also glad they made the distinction between Acronyms and Initialisms.______
