Wow, so he studies Tao ( I assume Taoism, the daodejing and so forth). What type I wonder (if he even knows).
Is he practicing alchemy to gain immortality for instance?
Or is he just studying the main text? If so, how the hell does he rationalise practicing martial combative skills with a philosophy/religion that preaches non-action and submission to stronger forces so as to [be more likely to] survive?
I used to study Philosophy at uni years ago. I have nothing agianst it, heartily encourage study. What pisses me off to some degree is every half-bake who seems to think tacking some random asian/exotic/unusual school of thought onto their MA resume will somehow increase their goddamn validity.
*ahem*

Hmm...so he claims to have formally studied what litterally translates into "love of wisdom" yet has the thought process of a twelve year old? I'm going to assume that instead of "11 years of study", he meant to type "purchased some books which I have yet to actually read eleven years ago"
It's the Karate Kid effect. People want to believe that martial artists are these wise Asian whateverthefucks who spend their days meditating and doing yoga instead of regular people who are good at beating ass -

BJJ might make you a better ground fighter, but Judo will make you a better dancer.
